Common problems we get called for
Water damage
Ceilings and walls after a leak. The stain is the symptom — we cut out what has gone soft and find out where the water came from.
Cracks
Seam cracks above doors and along corners. Taped properly rather than filled, so the same line does not reopen next winter.
Ceilings
Sagging board, failed tape, popcorn removal. Overhead work is slower and messier, and it needs the room covered.
Texture that does not match
Orange peel, knockdown, skip trowel, smooth. Matching an existing texture is a skill, and it is where most repairs give themselves away.
After the plumber
Access holes cut for pipes, wiring or a bath. We close them up and put the wall back the way it was.
Scope
What the work involves
Small repairs are often a single visit. Anything with texture or paint needs drying time between coats, so a two-visit job is normal and not a delay.
- Cutting back to sound board and backing the opening so the patch has something to sit on
- Taping and three coats of compound, sanded between coats
- Texture matched to the surrounding wall, tested on a scrap before it goes on yours
- Priming the repair so paint does not flash a different sheen over the patch
- Painting the patch or the whole wall — a wall breaks at a corner, so sometimes the honest answer is to paint the wall
- Floors covered, dust contained, debris hauled out

What changes the price
We do not quote drywall by the square foot over the phone, because the two jobs that look identical in a photo are rarely the same job.
- How much board has to come out — a fist-sized hole and a four-foot section of wet ceiling are different work
- Whether the cause is fixed. We will not close a wall over an active leak
- The texture. Smooth walls and heavy knockdown take different time and different skill
- Ceiling or wall. Overhead work is slower and needs more protection
- Access. A second-floor hallway is not a garage
- Paint. Patch only, wall, or the whole room
Questions
Straight answers
How long does drywall repair take?
A small patch is usually one visit. Anything textured needs compound to dry properly between coats, so plan on two visits spread over a few days. Rushing that is how a patch ends up visible.
Can you match my existing texture?
Usually, yes. We test the match on a scrap board first and show it to you against the wall before any of it goes on. Older hand-applied textures are the hardest, and we will say so up front if a full-wall skim is the more honest answer.
Do you repair water-damaged drywall?
Yes — but the leak comes first. If the source is still active, closing the wall just hides the problem until it comes back bigger. If you have not found it yet, we will help work out where it is coming from.
Do I need to buy materials?
No. Board, compound, tape and texture come with us. If you want a specific paint, tell us and we will use yours.
Will there be dust everywhere?
Sanding drywall makes dust — there is no version of this that does not. Floors get covered, doorways get sealed off, and the debris leaves with us.
